Job Description
The Internal Comms Manager 1 provides full leadership and supervisory responsibility. Provides operational/service leadership and direction to team(s). Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge through provision of value-added perspectives or advisory services. May contribute to the development of new techniques, models and plans within area of expertise. Excellent communication and diplomacy skills are required. Generally has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness of end results and shared responsibility for planning and budgets. Work affects an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family. Full supervisory responsibility, ensuring motivation and development of team through professional leadership to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations as well as direction of daily tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Research, write and edit a full range of internal communications, from technical/operational bulletins to executive presentations.
  • Manage daily communication intranet channels and ensure timely, accurate and effective delivery of all materials and messages.
  • Serve as a recognized practitioner and resource for writing style consistency and accuracy.
  • Ensure appropriate and consistent integration of CitiFinancial core values, corporate messages, brand qualities and key initiatives into multiple communications types, styles and channels.
  • Build excellent relationships within CitiFinancial and other business partners. Become knowledgeable about operations, employees and client group projects to provide communications advice, make professional recommendations, and enhance communications quality.
  • Develop and deploy communications strategies and tactics for assigned internal client groups.
  • Provide comprehensive assistance and/or leadership for projects and initiatives.
  • Lead successful communication implementation through proactive planning, and excellent writing.
  • Manage Field Communications process to facilitate Legal, Compliance, and Operations approval for communications
  • Monitor centralized mailboxes for inquiries from Centers for questions (including Legal, Regulatory, and general policy and procedure questions).
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations that are visually engaging and effectively communicate the presenter’s message.
  • Contribute to meeting planning process.
  • Manage multiple priorities using excellent organizational, analytical, leadership and communications skills.
  • Contribute to the achievement of established goals and objectives and adhere to policies, procedures, quality and service standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:
  • 5-8 years of demonstrated communications experience.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proof-reading skills.
  • Ability to adapt style for specific mediums, voices and formats and distill complex content for a general audience

Education:
  • Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience
