JOB PURPOSE

 

Location: Role to be split between Castleford and Keighley manufacturing sites - primarily based at Castleford site assisting on Building and Construction Projects

Term: Fixed Term Contract

To be the link between the Burberry management team and the project consultants to co-ordinate planned projects to ensure the projects do not affect the day to day running of the factories.

To programme and plan activities and understand project status and provide regularly updates to key stakeholders and driving critical path actions to be completed on time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manufacturing Understanding:

  • Develop an understanding of the production flow including key requirements and constraints.
  • Ensure project work is consistent with driving forward and improving the existing teamwork, 5S and stock control systems.
  • Develop an understanding of the internal manufacturing KPIs and strategy.


Project Co-ordination:

  • Co-ordinate, programme and facilitate improvement projects in Castleford & Burberry Mill, working closely with project sponsors to plan and execute projects effectively, managing upwards where required.
  • Ensure project teams are fully engaged and contributing effectively to project achievement.
  • Develop project deliverables to be clear and measurable.
  • Identify key risks to project target achievement and escalate appropriately.
  • Facilitate project based workshops to define and monitor key targets and progress.
  • Agree realistic timescales and milestones.
  • Use visual management to drive project reviews, completion and performance.
  • Use waste elimination principles to identify optimal layout and flow of work, considering technology solutions and ways of working to improve quality and productivity levels.
  • Hold learning reviews throughout the project to ensure learning is captured and acted upon.
  • To be the liaison between the consultants, designers and contractors / IMLT / H&S Manager / wider Burberry business if and when needed
  • Assist with producing project plans with the project owner to incorporate lead times and project delivery plans
  • Working with specialist consultants, architects, local authorities and regulatory bodies, co-ordinate projects so as to deliver the project requirements on time, in a safe manner, within budget with little or no impact on production, quality or people unless discussed and agreed in advance
  • Consider and agree with project owner and incorporate into project, all ‘other’ factors outside of the project itself that may be impacted i.e. people impact, toilets, fire escapes, fire systems, walkways, car parking, lunch breaks, speakers, drafts, access / egress, signage, IT, furniture etc etc
  • Produce CAD drawings when required – KEY SKILL REQUIREMENT
  • Arrange and hold pre-start, ongoing and close out meetings when required with contractors, consultants, project owners etc to ensure all clear on project requirements to meet the A3 and all on track, including production and distribution of minutes.
  • Produce learning points at the end of the projects for future awareness to create ‘best practice’
PERSONAL PROFILE
  • Experience in the co-ordination of Building Construction or Facilities Management Projects
  • A self-motivated individual able to prioritise own workload
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated Project Management skills to guide a team through a change project
  • Experience of coaching others to achieve sustained improvements
  • A lean advocate with experience of tools such as structured problem solving, VSM, SMED, 5S, Kanban, etc.
  • Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook
  • 5 Years+ experience in project co-ordination / programme management
