Job Description
The candidate will report to the R&D System Test manager and work closely with the Hardware and Software engineers in a multifaceted role. Candidate will help the R&D team by supporting development and test engineers in all aspects of product development and test lifecycle. Candidate must be a self-starter who can work with a moderate level of independence without day-to-day direction while staying closely connected with a local/remote/international team. Responsibilities: Requisition and maintenance of analytical, hardware and software lab instruments. Install new test setup including cabling, racking, tubing/plumbing of analytical instrumentation. Evaluate products and systems that interface with measuring instruments, hardware, and software. Work effectively in a Hands-on Lab environment while maintaining compliance with occupational health and safety guidelines Passion for record-keeping and track progress. Participate in verification and validation testing of Maxum Gas Chromatographs using various software and hardware test tools. Provide feedback on functional and quality issues encountered and make suggestions for improvement. Interpret, document and report test results. Examine test samples, read schematics, wiring diagrams and follow operational instructions Investigate and troubleshoot complex issues identified by customers. Perform other duties as assigned. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use sight, and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, controls, and lab/office equipment. Candidate will support the Houston, TX manufacturing location. However, the individual will work closely with the Bartlesville, OK location where the R&D Test Team is located. Will also work with international teams located in Eastern Europe. Occasional travel to domestic/international locations will be needed for team events, team collaboration and training. Minimum Qualifications Minimum, 2-year technical degree required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work and communicate effectively in an international team of engineers. Good affinity to understand physics and mechanical aspects of a product and its application. Experience with basic statistical process control and analytical testing equipment. Strong ability to provide clear and complete written reports/design analysis. Self-Motivated. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related degree. Familiarity with hazardous area equipment and installation. Previous experience with analytical or measurement instruments.
