Job Summary:

We have an exciting role within our consumer payments team based in our Hammersmith, London office. Working on new projects and with all the key players within the industry, this is truly a FinTech role and a great opportunity for someone motivated, well versed in the industry of consumer payments and builds relationships easily to join a successful team and have the opportunity to implement and lead change initiatives.

The role has three key focusses, with a large focus on Implementation and Innovation, closely followed by Third Party Optimization and the third being Risk Management.

Disney’s increased strategic focus on Direct-to-Consumer with the launch of Streaming Services and the global expansion thereof, will require best-in-class payment solutions to make the launch and on-going operation a continued business success.

This role is critically important to ensuring that Disney is positioned to manage, measure, and optimize the performance of strategic payment partner relations. Success in this role gives Disney the ability to capitalize on business relationships with third parties that make Disney more efficient and nimble in delivering the overall consumer payment experience to its guests.

The Enterprise Consumer Payments team (ECP) is responsible for implementing the global consumer payments strategy, establishing appropriate risk management and risk mitigation measures, identifying and executing on operational and financial efficiencies, and managing global internal and external relationships in the consumer payments space. The consumer payments group collaborates with all lines of business and senior management to ensure enterprise-wide support with best-in-class payment services/vendors, strategic alignment of initiatives and adherence to policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the third party payments vendor management / business negotiation strategy, including identifying opportunities for consolidation, cost reduction, and quality improvements from third parties, as well as developing a rigorous due diligence process for prospective business partners in payments for International businesses, including EMEA.
  • Act as trusted payments partner for all LOBs launching new D2C activities or expanding existing ones across channels, markets and Guest propositions. Lead the payment acceptance recommendation, payment solution design and support the technical implementation and acceptance set-up in close cooperation with the ECP-dedicated Enterprise IT team and the ECP Risk&Controls team
  • Lead the acceptance strategy and roadmap development for Europe, in close cooperation with ECP Vendor Mgmt. /America’s team, Corp Legal, Corp Brand and LOB representatives. Provide thought leadership around regional and local payment regulation as well as Scheme Rules/Product changes impacting Disney’s D2C activities. Share knowledge and provide actionable recommendations to the LOBs.
  • Leverage industry and payment product expertise to continuously identify Guest Experience, performance and cost optimization opportunities. Work with LOBs, payment vendors/schemes and ECP colleagues to translate those opportunities into tangible benefits to the business.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Finance qualification (ACA/CIMA/etc.)
  • Significant experience with payments companies or in payments related roles
  • Exceptional contract and vendor management skills in consumer payments
  • Cross-functional industry experience in consumer payments
  • Track record of successful implementation of payments initiatives in global organizations
  • Superior contract negotiation skills; attuned to best practices in the consumer payments industry
  • Excellent matrix manager, builds and sustains work relationships
  • Tested analytic skills
  • Excellent strategic thinking and cross-functional leadership skills
