Join SCAD as the International Programs Coordinator to support and assist students studying at the university’s Hong Kong campus.

In this Hong Kong-based position, you’ll serve as the immigration adviser and compliance coordinator for non-local students, translating complex Hong Kong regulations, as well as U.S. immigration regulations, related to student visas. You’ll oversee required student enrollment tracking and Hong Kong student visa compliance, liaise in person and via email with the Immigration Department of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in Wan Chai, and promote and manage the Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates (IANG) and No Objection Letter (NOL) student visa work authorization processes. Central to this role is a thorough understanding and knowledge of U.S. F-1 regulations regarding change-of-location procedures for outbound students, as well as the ability to support the SCAD Study Abroad office regarding inbound students to ensure a seamless transition process.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate competency in interpreting and applying complex regulations as well as the ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds in a positive manner and to use discretion when maintaining student records and immigration documents. He or she must also demonstrate a willingness to understand the procedures and processes of the Hong Kong Immigration Department. While the ability to serve as a designated school official (DSO) in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) agency is not a requirement for this position, a thorough understanding of F-1 regulations is required.

Requirements
– Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred
– One to three years of experience managing student visa compliance
– English language skills; additional Cantonese language skills preferred
