Job Description
IoT Engineer A rare opportunity has become available to join our award-winning team in Siemens Digital Industries. We are looking for the new addition to our team to become one of our experts in the IoT space. In this role you will be at the cutting edge; actively contributing to the implementation of solutions from hardware to analytics in the cloud. The majority of our work is focussed on sustainability and developing and delivering solutions for the water industry. You can expect to be in the office 2 times per week on average. Future thinker? Read on… In this role you will: • Design- Actively participate in IoT solution design reviews. Choose suitable hardware to deliver. Estimate time requirements • Test- Develop and test IoT solutions off site ready for on-site deployment. Document successful testing and gain customer acceptance • Implement- On site deployment of hardware and software systems to enable data acquisition and transmission to the cloud. • Manage- Maintenance troubleshooting and system uptime. Take active ownership of solutions in the field to ensure high data quality at all times • Cloud- Asset creation and management in Siemens IoT platform, MindSphere • Customer Coordination- Responsibility for customer relationship related to project delivery. We are looking for super minds, not superheroes Do you have… • Experience of commissioning on customer sites • Maintains up to date knowledge of technologies and utilises this knowledge to specify and develop innovative solutions • Driving Licence essential Experience in the following would help you hit the ground running... • Knowledge of automation and communication technologies. Including hardware and software. • Experience of using low code tools and deploying or developing in cloud environments - Knowledge of fieldbus open communication protocols, both Ethernet and Serial (OPC UA, Profinet, Profibus, Modbus etc) We’ve got quite a lot to offer.
