The Specialty Materials segment manufactures products that provide more than 150 material formulations for glass, glass ceramics and fluoride crystals to meet demand for unique customer needs. Consequently, this segment operates in a wide variety of commercial and industrial markets that include display optics and components, semiconductor optics components, aerospace and defense, astronomy, ophthalmic products, telecommunications components and cover glass that is optimized for portable display devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop expertise and fundamental understanding within Corning to maximize optical performance of Iris™ LGPs.
- Debug and startup in-house finishing and screen printing operations.
- Tracks and reports all manufacturing metrics at startup of in-house operations.
- Collaborate with business and commercial leaders to service existing and new demand from Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) and brands.
- Be the key technical interface between the Corning and brands, ODMs and panel makers (PMs).
- Understand how monitor program fits with other Iris LGP segments and respond as needed to cross-influences.
- Develop cost reduction roadmap for the Iris monitor program
- Collaborate with Iris Manufacturing team to ensure alignment between full sheet supply and performance after screen printing.
- Work closely with Supply Chain and engineering to create a robust strategy for increasing capacity to support incremental growth.
- Ensure matrixed team and cross-functional team are properly aligned.
- Develop and maintain technical relationship with industry partners including contract manufacturers or certified finishers to facilitate technical sharing.
- Coordinate with leveraged engineering team members, and development teams to evaluate measurement options and deliver continuous process improvements for both finishing and printing.
