Eaton’s Electrical GEIS Division is currently seeking a Janitor (1st Shift, 8:00am-4:30pm) to join our Facilities Team in Reno, NV facility. This is a full time, direct hire position. Compensation for this role begins at $18.24 / hour. Position Overview: The Janitor is responsible for general cleaning tasks throughout the facility and maintenance of cleaning supplies inventory levels. In this function you will: Perform cleaning and sanitation of the facility including cafeterias, break areas, bathrooms, and hallways, etc. Clean, sanitize, and refill inventory for all plant restrooms Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors in break areas, cafeterias, bathrooms, hallways, offices & etc. Operate cleaning systems and equipment as trained and specified (i.e. vacuums, floor scrubbers, etc.) Help organize and maintain closets and storage areas Prepare all cleaning solutions required for the sanitation of the facility Properly track the use of all chemical cleaning agents, paints, and supplies that are removed from plant inventory Responsible to accurately communicate utilization of cleaning supplies and request issuance of those consumed items via the plant established procedure Maintain recycle bins and trash and periodic deep cleaning of office areas, break rooms, and other areas as assigned Exterior cleaning to include along building, windows, grounds & parking lot in all weather conditions Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner Performs other janitorial duties as required Qualifications Required Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future. No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Reno, NV facility. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred Qualifications: 6+ months of previous facilities/janitorial experience Position Requirements: Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format in English. Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office) Ability to work with limited or no supervision Follow safe work practices per government and corporate safety standards Physical Demands: Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift: kneeling, bending, and climbing required Able to work at heights of up to 40 feet above the floor Able to regularly lift 35 pounds without assistance Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company policy and procedure Exposure to high noise level (ear protection may be required in some areas) Exposure to high traffic areas with forklift activity Indoor and outdoor exposure to weather Work environment exposes to oils, lubricants, and solvents Why work at Eaton?
