The Java software backend developer will be part of the software development team to build the software systems of Siemens Healthineers. You will engage closely with architects and engineering teams to build a new generation software platform controlling hundreds of thousands of Siemens Healthcare medical devices (CT, MRI, Ultrasound,…) used in hospitals worldwide. Task and Responsibilities (based on your skills): You will be part of the international development team You will be developing the Core Communication Platform (a central component of the whole product) You will be contributing to the design, architecture, and testing of the component You will be developing software using agile methods (Scrum) If you need help or coaching, we can always reach out to a solid network of experts within our organization The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in the following fields: Mid-Java developer REST API Oracle SQL Experience in any of the following areas is welcome: JMS Docker, Kubernetes Kafka Aerospike Scala SOA and application integration Concurrency and multithreading Protocol buffers Experience with common development tools from both provider and user side (e.g., GitLab, GitLab CI/CD, Artifactory, Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps) Personality requirements and skills: Good analytical and problem-solving skills Good attitude toward learning new technologies Willingness to work in a team environment Required education, skills, and personality requirements: Required education University education (Bachelor's degree) University education (Master's degree) Postgraduate (Doctorate) Language skills: English - Upper intermediate (B2) We offer: Variable and Christmas bonus Hybrid type of work – a combination of telework and work from the office Flexible Working Hours Bridge days - free extra paid leave 6 days per year 3 sick days per year (no doctor’s permit needed) In case of sickness 100% salary reimbursement 20 days/ year, this includes max. 10 days/ year for of family care Additional pension plan 300 EUR for regeneration of workforce via cafeteria system Wellbeing program - Psychological, Legal and Financial counseling Family care program (subsidy for newborns, maternity leave, kindergartens, summer camps) Retention program (work anniversary, life anniversary, employee loans) Training and development program (business and product training, e-learning, language courses, soft skills training,…) Adjustable standing desk as a standard Participation in world-famous IT conferences like Microsoft IGNITE for best employees Wide project portfolio in the healthcare domain and job rotation within the company (Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Healthcare IT services, …) Basic wage component (gross) and other rewards: starting from 2200 EUR brutto /month + VAR* *We are required by law to disclose the basic wage component (minimum salary) for the advertised positions.
