About the Employer
Dramatic English (DE) www.DramaticEnglish.org is the leading organization that provides English language education through Drama in the Greater China region. The School Services division provides professional services to over 80 schools every year. The Studio division manages 9 Education Centres in HK. There are plans to open up to a total of about 10 centres in HK as well as new centres in China in 2014. DE also partners with educational institutions in major cities of mainland China to train and supply teachers for them. In HK alone, we are currently hiring a team of 40 Native English speaking Teachers. These teachers come from all over the world. The famous playwright and movie director Mr. Alfred Cheung (張堅庭) is the chairman of the group.
For candidates that do not have a TESOL (Teaching English to Student of Other Languages) certificate, which is a requirement for expatriate teachers in China, DE partners with HK TESOL Institute (www.hk-tesol.org) to offer you a 3 weeks, 60 hours intensive TESOL certificate course here in HK. Candidates can fly over to HK one month in advance, take the TESOL program, then start teaching right away.
The teaching career with Dramatic English may either be the opportunities to be promoted to be a senior teacher, then a teacher supervisor, or after finishing the first contract be transferred/referred to teach in other major China cities to explore and experience different life styles.
About the Job
We are now looking for candidates who could fill some immediate openings in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen and Bangkok; as well as for the academic year 2014-2015. Candidates will be required to teach Early Childhood classes with students from 3.5 years old to 6 years old, to primary students from 6 to 12 years old, and to secondary and post-secondary students from 12 to 19 years old.
Teachers are required to:
1. teach English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, including phonics classes;
2. teach Drama workshops and classes;
3. direct Drama and/or Musical performances;
4. write lesson plans for all their classes and support in the development of related curriculum;
5. evaluate students performances; and
6. perform other related duties.
Candidates should be:
1. Native speakers of English
2. University Graduates of Drama, Education, English or related disciplines;
3. possess TESOL/TEFL certificates before job commencement. Candidates who do not have a TESOL yet can come to HK to enrol in a 3 weeks TESOL program;
4. able to direct, or choreograph, or sing, or direct musical performances a definite advantage but not essential;
5. a good team player, but can also work independently, and love working with children;
6. considerable experience in developing related curriculum another advantage.

1. Hong Kong Openings:
§ Fresh Graduates are welcomed;
§ Gap year students, post- secondary early childhood related diploma graduates are also welcomed;
2. Beijing, Shanghai & Shenzhen Openings:
§ Age not less than 23;
§ 2 years of working experience with at least one year teaching related;
