What will you do? Siemens Canada Ltd. Is requiring a Lead Journeymen HVAC / Refrigeration mechanic to help support and drive our growth initiative within our Mechanical Services business located in the Vancouver area. Responsibilities: Performing repairs and maintenance to a variety of HVAC equipment, including: DX Units – Splits Systems / Rooftop Units / Mini Splits / Water Source Heat Pumps, Cooling Towers, Intake and Exhaust Fans, Boilers, Chillers, Pumps and Electric Motors and Starters Work independently on all assigned HVAC equipment. Troubleshoot and repairs HVAC System. Installing and retrofitting HVAC Systems as required. Perform maintenance tasks as required. Arrange for assistance from others such as mechanics and electricians as required. Advise supervisor when materials and repairs are required. Complete reports and maintain inspection records as required. Drive recommendations and solutions for our customers. Provide costing and quotations for recommendations. Lead the current mechanical team in Vancouver. Other duties as assigned. What you will need to succeed? Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role. Must have an excellent understanding of mechanical equipment. Ability to verbally communicate effectively with co-workers and customers. Good reading and writing skills. Pro-active and reliable. Able to work alone with minimum supervision and within a team. The ability to work methodically and pay close attention to detail. Good problem-solving skills. An awareness of health and safety. Clean driving record. Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking. Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the air conditioning trade. Must be able to handle refrigerants, solvents, chemicals and materials safely. Must be able to climb extension ladders and not be afraid of heights. Available to support our customer service base. (no rotation, only mechanic, always on call to start) Good standing with Local Union 516. Asset: Experience with parkade gas detection systems About us.
