Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Review MRO requirements to fulfill stock and spot buys to assure on time production schedule, interfacing directly with suppliers and negotiating prices and T&C´s Manage inventory for Hagemayer and avoid obsoletes and slow moving inventory ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Monitor and ensure that Hagemeyer (in house supplier) provides integrated sourcing, bar coded storeroom management, automatic restocking programs, vendor-managed inventory, JIT programs, and on-line ordering. Assists in commercial activities such as supplier identification, evaluations, RFQs for indirect materials and services Maintains inventory accuracy levels and proper stock inventory for effective production scheduling Complete assigned EHS requirements for purchase and stock of chemical materials Support plant requirements through positive relationships with suppliers, including assisting in legal and commercial issues to Mexico Coordinates activities related to shipment of purchased products to plant (National and International) Resolve on Hold invoices in a timely manner Participate in Cost Reduction Projects, Kaizens, Ideas, etc Complete assigned EHS action items. Participate in safety coaching. Submit Kaizen Burst ideas to improve Safety. Perform weekly safety checks. Lead department safety team. See attachment for more details. Coordinate and facilitate the acquisition of goods and services Budget-planning and reconciling Lead MRO department supplier negotiations, prices and Suppiers OTD Control Contract Lifecycle Management for all the suppliers Manage and apply in accordance all the SCM policies used for purchasing ( Indirect) In charge for the Internal Audit Purchasing Result Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Bachelor’s required, MBA preferred 3-5 years experience in the Purchasing discipline of the Supply Chain Management area. Experience in the automotive industry, with extensive knowledge of the supply base available in Mexico for vehicles components. Oracle experience preferred Customer service & communications skills Demonstrated ability to work on their own and as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to negotiate with suppliers. Spanish and English communication skills (verbal and written) Must be able to read and understand product drawings. Demonstrated ability to develop and enforce contracts with suppliers. SQA experience is beneficial, but not required. SIOP experience is beneficial, but nor required. APICS would be a plus Legal Requirements (Import-Export) Leadership Skills Personnel Development Organizational skills, previous budget-planning and reconciling skills, and the ability to problem-solve and implement solutions Contract Management Knowledge ADDITIONAL INFORMATION On-going interaction with Finance Ability to present detailed reports of findings and recommendations, both orally and in writing. Ability to gather information regarding the type and specifics of merchandise needed by the company Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, departmental officials and the public.
