How Will You Make an Impact?

The Jr. Scientist, Molecular Biology will be heavily involved in the execution of molecular biology tests designed by the senior group members for verification and validation of new assays Molecular Diagnostic (MDx) assays both for RUO and IVD use. Ability to design and execute simple experiments independently and report the results will also be required. The new hire will be primarily based in laboratory and as such, will have strong experience in Molecular Biological techniques and be comfortable in this environment. The Scientist will work effectively as part of a dynamic team or alone and possess strong self-organization skills. The successful applicant is required to exhibit results-oriented attitude with the ability to thrive in the fast paced environment.

What will you do?

• Executes molecular biology experiments independently and performs accurate record keeping.
• Accurately follows protocols
• Assists senior members of the team in complex experimentation planning and execution.
• Exercises independent judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
• Possesses prior laboratory experience in PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis. Knowledge of capillary electrophoresis is preferred.
• Analyses experiments results and communicates to senior team members.
• Adheres to company policies and procedures following research and development scientific standards.

How will you get here?

I. Education

Required – Bachelors or Masters in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or similar

II. Experience

• Hands on experience with molecular biology methods, such as PCR, qPCR is required.
• Sound understanding of common molecular biology and biochemistry methods.

III. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Able to design test protocols with guidance from senior scientists.
• Possesses strong computer skills and can manage and analyze data sets.
• Attention to details and good documentation practices.
• Strong laboratory skills.
