The energy analytics department of ICIS provides cutting-edge data, modelling and written analysis to key decision makers across the trading and policy spectrum. We are currently looking for a bright, analytically skilled and communicative individual to join our experienced and dedicated analytics team in Asia (Guangzhou, China).

Main responsibilities
  • Qualitative analyses – produce data-driven analyses that enable our target customers to make informed decisions
  • Primary research - track short/mid-term developments in the China/Asia oil industry
  • Market engagement - develop new industry contacts, strengthen existing contacts relationships
  • Well-rounded perspectives - monitor macroeconomics, regulatory developments, geopolitics and related commodity sectors, and their impact on the oil sector
Experience/Knowledge/Skills

(Essential)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (major in economics/mathematics/journalism preferred.)
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Excellent inter-personal skills
  • Strong analytical, communication and implementation skills, strong self-direction, meticulous
  • High level of numerical accuracy
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power Point
  • Effective individual contributor and team player
(Advantageous)
  • Work experience in energy/petrochemical sector
  • At least two years of research and analysis work experience
  • Grade 8 English
  • Experience in programming (Python, SQL, R and/or Matlab)
