Job Description
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Junior Editor for all Chamber publications and mainly the Chamber business magazine German Chamber Ticker.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the Chamber Team in all editorial areas, primarily in the production of our bi-monthly China-wide magazine GC Ticker

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
• Generating story ideas, conducting research and interviews and writing articles, as well as copyediting and proofreading all content
• Cooperating with clients and external contributors relevant to the production of the magazine
• Composing or compiling content for and editing other marketing and sales collateral, including material for special events
• Actively tending to the needs of our clients, partners and members at Chamber events in Shanghai and its neighboring provinces as well as supporting the team on ad-hoc projects
• Responsibility for the benefit program, including database upkeep, partner outreach, and the creation of the annual publication.
• Responsibility for the German Chamber Ticker App and Benefit Partner App

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred majors: English, journalism, media/PR, marketing/communications, business, translation etc.)
• Native English speaker
• Extremely detail-oriented
• Cultural sensitivity and eagerness to work in an international environment
• Strong command of the written word gained through journalism or research experience; ideally through work experience as editor of a print publication
• High interest in current affairs and China business issues as they relate to German business
• Solid MS Office skills a must; MacOSX, knowledge of design software (InCopy, InDesign, PhotoShop) or experience with web design a plus
• German and/or Chinese language skills an additional advantage
• Goal-oriented mindset with excellent communication and customer service skills
• Able to work in a high-stress environment with strict deadlines
• Responsible and reliable with the ability to work independently
