Job Description
As a junior electrical engineer, you will execute and drive essential product innovation and engineering for Breakers and electronic Power Switching. You will also prepare technology screenings and evaluations to contribute to the PDD innovation growth funnel in feasibility studies by providing design concepts for the product lines MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker), AFDD, MCCB (Molded Case Circuit Breaker) and ACB (Air Circuit Breaker). Your main responsibilities: Analyzing quality issues being related to product design and striving for solutions by organizing cross-functional collaborations to resolve the issues Establishing regular communication meetings between different PL R&D teams Analyzing design concepts under economical and quality criteria Supporting the EATON business with PRE-Launch innovation projects to provide the required product technology for the subsequent PRO-Launch realization projects Driving and supporting NPD projects by organizing the necessary design workflow and taking over technical leadership for design related work packages Creating product specifications together with the engineering and product management teams of the PDD Products Segment Coordinating the prototype preparation to test the functional performance of new product concepts with respect to the specification Cooperating with external suppliers, industry peers and scientific community inside and outside of EATON Qualifications Bachelor, Master or PhD of Science in Electrical Engineering with focus in power generation and distribution Minimum of 2 years field engineering experience with power distribution Consolidated knowledge in measurement engineering Experience with electronic circuit designs Familiarity with component soldering on PCBs Experience with Matlab/Simulink, Spice-simulation, LabView Thorough MS Office software literacy including the use of MS Word and MS Excel knowledge and awareness of relevant international industry standards (IEEE, IEC) Ready to adapt to unexpected changes, challenges, or setbacks Able to think outside the box What you will get from us Eaton’s mission is to improve the quality of life and the environment through the use of power management technologies and services.
