The purpose of this position is to provide expert employee relations support to employees and managers to enable a positive and productive working environment. This role is vital to ensuring we are living the AbbVie Way and continuing to make AbbVie a great place to work. The employee relations position will also play an important role in managing Works Council processes and deliverables. The Employee Relations team will report into respective functional HR Directors but provide support across functions. Individuals will sit in Wiesbaden and Ludwigshafen. Travel between the sites will be necessary at times. Key Responsibilities Include: Primary responsibility is be the subject matter expert on managing and improving employee relations across AbbVie Germany. Provide expert consultative and problem-solving services to managers, employees and BHR partners regarding HR policies and practices Independently resolve policy & practice inquiries, performance management, workplace accommodations, and other appropriately assigned cases Lead employee relations investigations and make appropriate recommendations, in partnership with BHR, ensure appropriate documentation. Responsible for the performance improvement plan (PIP) process, ensuring appropriate coaching, documentation and resolution Provide employee relations related training to managers Manage individual salary progression for tariff employees and tariff level grading Manage termination process and lead termination agreement negotiations for non-senior level in close partnership with BHR Lead Works Council discussions related to individual employee and manager issues Responsible for Works Council matters including – employee complaints, conflict management, general questions (pay and salary), organizational changes, posting exceptions, warning letters. Partner closely with BHR on senior employee matters and/or those with special sensitivities Supports HR Directors/ BHR in restructuring process Conduct exit interviews Manage early retirement conversations and process Responsible for managing the re-integration process (BEM) for the respective function, partner with respective stakeholders Manages queries from external lawyers with regards to employee complaints and issues, manages court cases if needed Participates or leads well-defined ER projects Serves as the first point of contact for HRConnect consultants for all non-operational issues Ensure compliance with all relevant country laws, regulations, policies and practices. Qualifications Basic: Bachelor's degree. HR or relevant work experience required Must have ability to effectively communicate and work with a diverse group of stakeholders across a matrix organization Excellent interpersonal and group facilitation skills. Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent analytical skills. Advanced Excel, Power Point, and Microsoft Project.
