About The Role:
The Junior Project Manager will work in the Group IT function, in a growing Project Management team that work on varied internal IT projects covering multiple areas of IT - infrastructure, networks, office relocations and software delivery and business applications. These could be IT sponsored projects or Business-led (e.g. sales, Finance, HR, Marketing) projects.
The Junior Project manager will work independently to deliver against project goals/deliverables efficiently and effectively. Works on a variety of smaller to medium sized projects and leads the project team in delivering against the overall project objectives. Applies developing project management skills and experience to achieve results.
Responsibilities:
* Delivery of a variety of IT smaller projects on-time, within budget and with high quality resulting in the successful achievement of project objectives. Manages all facets of the project to include: scoping, estimating/sizing, project methodology, planning, resourcing and scheduling, monitoring and controls, communications, project close and the handover to Operations.
* Uses a variety of developing project management methodologies, tools, and techniques to optimize project quality and profitability and manager risks and issues. Handles problems before they escalate and/or escalates to the appropriate person in order to resolve in a timely fashion. Identifies opportunities for improvement and helps to implement process enhancements in order to deliver exceptional results.
* Builds strong working relationships internally and externally that enables project team to work collaboratively and effectively. Develops stakeholder confidence by regularly checking in, assessing satisfaction, and uncovering concerns.
* Supporting the management of relationships and contracts with third-party technology suppliers/partners
* Communicate with stakeholders of varying levels of seniority, from developers through to middle management.
* Support and shadow senior project managers in their delivery of larger, more complex projects.
* Proactive self-learning to help enable development and growth into a more experienced project manager within RWS.
Requirements:
* Recognized project management qualification – e.g. Prince 2 Foundation
* Experience of leading smaller sized IT projects, following a project management methodology, and meeting the needs of the internal customers.
* Experience in successfully leading smaller sized IT projects in one or more of the following disciplines:
o IT Infrastructure, Network or IT Operations,
o Software & Business Applications e.g. Sales, Marketing, HR or Finance systems
o Office relocations
* Ability to communicate to any level or function within the business, both written and spoken
* Ability to be proactive and independent, and interdependent on the team
* Proactive and proficient in analyzing and solving problems, as well as managing risk and issues
* Adaptable and flexible and keen to take on a varied set of projects independently
* Enthusiastic and willing to learn and develop
