About The Role:
The Junior Project manager manages a variety of IT projects to deliver against project goals/deliverables efficiently and effectively. Works on a variety of smaller to medium sized projects and leads the project team in delivering against the overall project objectives. Applies developing project management skills and experience to achieve results
Responsibilities:
* Operational Excellence – Delivers a variety of smaller projects on-time, within budget and with high quality resulting in the successful achievement of project objectives. Manages all facets of the project to include: scoping, estimating/sizing, project methodology, planning, resourcing and scheduling, monitoring and controls, communications, and project close. Leads a project team responsible for a variety of work streams. Monitors and controls projects against established project goals, metrics, and KPIs. Takes proactive actions to resolve issues and keep projects on track. Supports more senior team members on larger more complex projects.
* Delivers Quality, Value, Results – Uses a variety of developing project management methodologies, tools, and techniques to optimize project quality and profitability. Handles problems before they escalate and/or escalates to the appropriate person in order to resolve in a timely fashion. Identifies opportunities for improvement and helps to implement process enhancements in order to deliver exceptional results.
* Relationship Building – Builds strong working relationships internally and externally that enables project team to work collaboratively and effectively. Develops stakeholder confidence by regularly checking in, assessing satisfaction, and uncovering concerns
* Liaising with internal business and technical teams to ensure business requirements are defined, documented and delivered
* Supporting the management of relationships and contracts with third-party technology suppliers/partners
* Owning and managing the Delivery plan and RAID logs, Managing & mitigating risks & issues. Tracking all decisions/dependencies – with support from senior team members where applicable.
* Managing projects through Requirements, Design, Build, Test to post-implementation support.
* Complete handover to Operational IT support of the new technology and capability, ensuring it can be maintained and supported.
* Help ensure the Business owner tracks and monitors benefits realization against planned targets
* Communicate with stakeholders of varying levels of seniority, from developers through to middle management.
* Support and shadow senior members of the project management function in their delivery of larger, more complex projects and programmes.
* Proactive self-learning to enable development and growth into a more experienced project manager within RWS.
Requirements:
* Prince 2 Foundation (aim to achieve Practitioner level)
* Experience of delivering small sized projects, following a standard project management methodology, in one or both of the following disciplines:
o IT Infrastructure, Network or IT Operations,
o Software & Business Applications e.g. Sales, Marketing, HR or Finance systems
* Ability to communicate at all levels of the business
