About the Business Unit Grid Software The Grid Software Business Unit is a recent restructuring within the SI division to allow Siemens to unify our various Grid Software portfolio product and solutions to our customers, typically DSO’s and TSO’s to transition to an agile IT/OT landscape for the full grid life cycle: This will include: a full planning, operating & maintenance view of their grid; a full, modular software product portfolio. Deep IT & OT grid domain expertise from a team of 2,400 people - constantly updating innovations. There are 5 portfolio elements: MDMS, Grid Simulation. Grid Control, PTI consulting and Grid Edge. Cutting-edge solutions are the way forward and that means to define sustainable enterprise digital architecture, select appropriate technologies, and ensure seamless integration. This is heart of our Grid Software Solutions. Although individual systems are expected to generate gains by themselves, only a proper integration of those technologies can unleash the full potential of digital transformation. Based on this principle, Siemens has developed a holistic architecture concept to support customers to implement digital solutions, with a strong focus on eliminating data silos and increasing collaboration across different departments such as engineering, operations, planning and maintenance. The ultimate target is to create a fully integrated ecosystem, based on the following pillars: Vertical Integration from field level to enterprise management level Horizontal Integration from engineering to operations Continuous improvement process enhanced by digital applications We are looking for a (Junior-) IT-Solution / SW-Engineer (m/f/d) for Digital Grid Systems to join our Grid Software team. Based in our Vienna office, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within an area of the Siemens business that has enormous market potential. Your new role – challenging and future-oriented Technical Solution Design - You are able to translate software requirements gathered through workshops with Solution Architects, System Engineers with customers and other stakeholders into a detailed technical solution design based on Siemens Products. Software Architecture - You design and develop software based on industry best practices and standards using Siemens products. Software Configuration - for smart metering solution composed of vending systems, HES, MDMS and Asset Management Systems. Software Testing - You need to have a good understanding of software testing methodologies to do both functional and non-functional testing. You have the ability to develop test procedures for doing Unit Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, Performance Testing, etc. Post installation support - post installation support on the solution will be required for a period after commissioning. Your profile Degree (HTL, FH, TU) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics Some knowledge and understanding of Databases (ORACLE or MySQL) including SQL scripting Knowledge with Unix based Operating Systems (Linux) including Shell/Bash scripting Good understanding of API technologies such as SOAP, REST etc. Fluent in English, Willingness to learn German Have good communication skills for customer and team engagement What else do I need to know? The gross annual payment for this job vacancy is at least EUR 50.000,- (full-time). An overpayment is possible depending on education and experience.
