Job Description

We seek a Junior Project Manager/Admin with a desire to learn and get a chance to lead sophisticated projects in the transportation industry. Your role is to assist in the planning, execution, and finalization of projects according to scope, deadline, and budget. Your position also includes interacting with engineering, procurement, testing, and other members of multi-functional teams. The Junior Project Manager/Admin will also support the project's objectives, participate in project planning during and after the sales cycle and coordinate quality control throughout the project life cycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Support project scope, goals, and deliverables that reinforce the business goals and requirements in an agile environment
  • Support the Senior Project Manager(s) to update and improve relevant project documentation as well as propose and prepare internal/external reports
  • Apply our project process and management principles at all aspects of project scope and deliverables.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to all partners in a timely and transparent fashion.
  • Deliver progress reports, proposals, documentation, roadmaps, and presentations.
  • Assist with the handling of changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation in JIRA/Confluence
  • Aide in fostering business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Participate in project postmortems and craft a recommendation report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Ability to lead/direct emergency support calls due to requirements of the contract that call for after-hour backing in the event of an emergency (24X7X365)
  • Ability to step in as a deputy when the senior project manager is unavailable

Required Knowledge/Skills/Education:

  • PM Certification highly desired but not necessary
  • 2+ years in a Project Management/Project Admin function
  • Rail Industry experience highly desired
  • Experience interfacing with internal or external customers
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders from different parts of the organization, both internal and external
