Find out more about the Digital world of Siemens here: www.siemens.com/careers/digitalminds What you will do for Siemens Smart Infrastructure: We are seeking a Data Analyst to support our Risk Management group which is a part of Sustainability and Energy Management Services Business Unit who can be trained to conduct quantitative analysis of energy markets including energy transactions and fundamental market developments. The individual will support development of complex risk metrics, including volatilities, VaR, and mark-to-market, and forward pricing. In addition, the individual will be responsible for assisting in the assessment of client risks, developing complex modeling and simulation tools, and in developing various risk mitigation strategies for specific energy commodities including hedging tactics, physical vs. financial forwards. In addition, the candidate will perform quality control on modeling specifications, as well as analyze the output of the models, perform research and analyses within the natural gas, power, and oil commodity markets including fundamental analysis and technical analysis, as well as support the development of high-quality presentations and reports for clients. Responsibilities: Basic knowledge of and experience with physical and financial commodities transactions Basic knowledge of mark-to-market (MTM), accrual, and value at risk calculations Able to perform various analytical functions on an ad hoc basis Knowledge of and experience with risk policies and procedures Develop risk analysis and measurement methodologies Perform financial analysis of historical and forecasted information. This includes variance analysis, risk assessment, trend analysis, and other statistical modeling Effectively communicate results and analysis in a concise manner. This will include formal presentations to customers on a regular basis. Support senior analysts to fulfill strategic business objectives Qualifications: Where permitted by applicable law, Siemens may require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 based on job requirements, and in accordance with an accommodation based on legally protected reasons 2-3 years of energy industry experience Superior quantitative and problem-solving skills Exceptional organization skills to track issues on several integrated projects Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and contribute to a team environment Ability to build and maintain positive business relationships Must be proficient in PowerPoint and Excel Basic knowledge of energy market fundamentals for various regions (Supply and demand metrics, weather, storage, imbalance, generation, and load).
