About Program Origin (·计划):

Program Origin is a game development trainee program initiated by Ubisoft Shanghai, aiming to identify outstanding graduates (less than one year of work experience) with huge potential from both domestic and overseas universities. Students will be selected to join our three-month training and practice focusing on four core functions of programming, designing, art and animation.

Students in Program Origin will be coached by Ubisoft senior experts who have more than ten years of experience in AAA game production, attend courses specifically developed by the company and the program team, and apply what they have learned into practice, to lay a solid professional foundation. In the training, students will have full and close exposure to Ubisoft’s advanced industrialized management process, self-developed engine research as well as trainings on game development skills.

In the final stage, students from Program Origin who pass the interviews will join Ubisoft Shanghai to work on the core teams for the development and production of major IP projects such as Heroes of Might & Magic®, Far Cry®, The Division®, Just Dance® and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora™.

Job Description

Job Summary

The Junior Technical Animator/Rigger is a support role inside the Technical Animator/Rigger team, as a Technical Animator/Rigger, you will be responsible to create the game characters rigs and to develop some tools for the Animation team.
 

Responsibilities:

·       Optimizing the animation workflow

·       Providing assets for animation/engine workflow as well as the relevant tech support.

·       Have good knowledge of existing engines and animation packages within the industry

·       Communicate with Engine and Animation Programmer

·       Having the basic ability of tool development, such as Maya script etc.

·       Managing and validating the animation assets for technical integrity and creating related tool, such as Autotest tool.

Qualifications

Requirements:

·       At least College or Bachelor’s degree;

·       Excellent knowledge of 3D Studio Max and Max Script; good knowledge of motion builder

·       Strong Gamer Culture and interest in videogame development;

·       Good communication skills in both Chinese and English (spoken and written);

·       Analytical mind and good problem-solving skills;

·       Excellent knowledge of Human Anatom.

 

Nice To Have:

·       Knowledge of script is strong plus (e.g. maxscript/python/mel/c# )

·       Any relevant experience with game editors and engines is considered a plus.

Any experience in modeling, texturing, rigging and animation is preferred
