Job Description
Junior Welding Engineer Sykatec GmbH has about 600 employees in two production facilities and is one of the leading companies in innovative metal manufacturing for industry and the railway sector. We are producing single parts and prototypes as a onetime order or setting up a serial production in a very strong systematic relationship. The portfolio of our products includes form cables for small machines or big engines and converters; punched, laser cut and bended metal sheets out of copper, aluminum or steel; complete welded assemblies with a length of up to 5m; coated surfaces of singles parts and also the welded assemblies. Sykatec is a supplier of sophisticated welded containers with very high-quality requirements. The unique selling point of the company is the manufacturing of light weight containers with sheet metal thicknesses of 1 mm to 3mm without reworking them by a milling machine at the end. Processes which are used are MAG, MIG, TIG, RP, RB FSW, LB and more. Your new work environment – challenging and extensive · You will advise the Sales department regarding the acquisition of new projects by doing design and contract reviews. · You will support the technology department during the implementation of new weld processes and new projects · You create, update and revise necessary weld documentation: welding and assembly plans, verification checklists, inspection and test plan, testing specifications, work sample plans, work samples, welding procedure specifications · You ensure our welding certificates for the welding department - qualifying the employees of the welding department (welder qualifications) - qualifying the procedures (welding procedure qualification record) - ensure that the given processes are respected · You ensure the quality of our products by monitoring the production and inspecting the finished goods during the visual testing · You represent our company in front of the customer during single inspections, audits, company presentations and setting of new projects Your qualification · The begin of your bright future is a finished study as an engineer with a technical base (bachelor / master) · You have a minimum experience of 2 years as a mechanical engineer/young graduates with strong technical knowledge are also considered for this position · Good reading and interpretation of the technical drawings · Familiar with carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum manufacturing · You have knowledge in quality methods and know how to work with them (8D, 5Why) · You are familiar with different software like: MS Office 365, SAP, CAD · You can speak English at a conversational level, German is a plus · You are looking forward and try to improve processes by thinking out of the box · Willing to learn, adapt to new projects and situations. · Understanding and adapting client’s requirements to your own manufacturing process.
