Qualifications
The chosen candidate will be educated to university level, will possess a recognized teaching qualification and have evidence of on-going professional learning and development.

Experience, Ability and Understanding:
Educational Leadership
• Experience leading the school, with experience strongly preferable
• Ability to devise a clear strategy for the development of the School supported by annual attainment plans and accurate, evidence-based self-reflection
• Experience in leadership within a school system that operates in a climate of high accountability
• Experience establishing robust quality assurance, professional development and a culture of continual improvement
• Experience putting in place appropriate policies, procedures, guidelines and systems to deliver the educational vision of the school
• Ability to prepare the school for participation in accreditation and other relevant external quality assurance and school improvement processes
• Ability to work with the Executive Head of School in keeping abreast of - and judiciously implementing - best practice
• Ability to lead effective curriculum review and development
• Ability to ensure the Chinese National Curriculum is being implemented
• Ability to lead teachers in implementing instruction using inquiry- based learning and best practices

Organizational Leadership
• Work with the Executive Head of School to ensure that both the strategy and strategic documentation is up to date
• Play a lead role in annual budgeting and monitoring expenditure against the budget
• Manage the budget in line with the principles of best value and financial probity
• Assure the well-being of students through the appropriate implementation of health, safety, safeguarding and security measures
• Ensure that accountability is secured at all levels against expectations that are consistent as well as fair
• Play a lead role in recruiting, developing, inducting and utilizing teachers to fulfil their potential and meet the needs of the school
• Secure a timetable that makes best use of the school’s staff
• Work with the ExecHead of School to establish performance indicators to help assess and increase quality throughout the school
