THE JOB
Reporting to the Head Karatedo Coach, the Karatedo Coach (Kata) will be responsible for the following duties:
l To coordinate, design, and implement training programmes for elite athletes in Hong Kong;
l To fully utilize and integrate scientific, medical and other athlete support services into the elite training programme to enhance elite training outcomes;
l To drive the execution of the training programme actively in order to achieve the performance targets;
l To monitor athlete performance through comprehensive, multi-method assessment and regular evaluation;
l To create and implement development strategies for individual athletes as well as short-term and long-term plans for the elite training programme;
l To provide timely and critically analyzed progress reports to the HKSI and The Karatedo Federation of Hong Kong, China;
l To be responsible for administrative matters related to local and overseas squad training and competitions;
l To supervise Assistant Coaches and part-time coaches;
l To work on irregular hours occasionally;
l To assist the Karatedo Federation of Hong Kong, China to select and promote talent athletes; and
l To assist the HKSI and the Karatedo Federation of Hong Kong, China with coach education programmes.
THE REQUIREMENTS
l University degree or its equivalent;
l Holder of a valid coaching certificate issued by the relevant governing body;
l A minimum of 5 years professional coaching experience and proven record of achievement in coaching Karatedo athletes at national level;
l High level of international results in Karatedo
l Holder of a WKF/JKF recognized high-level Dan certificate;
l Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate elite training sessions;
l Outstanding knowledge of individual and team event principles including techniques, tactics, coaching trends and international developments;
l Knowledge of leading trends in coaching, including coaching science, practices and the appropriate application of leading technology tools;
l Driven by achieving results, a passion to a succeed;
l Ability to thrive in a pressured environment of irregular and long hours, and capacity to travel overseas for extended periods;
l Understand and comprehension of the WKF Competition Rules;
l Ability to demonstrate advanced technical skills would be a mandatory requirement;
l Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills;
l High level of computer literacy (Microsoft word/ excel); and
l Awareness/ knowledge of Child Protection in sport and equal opportunity issues in the context of Hong Kong is an added advantage.

主要職責
空手道教練(型)須向空手道總教練匯報工作情況，其職責詳列如下：
l 負責籌劃、設計和執行香港空手道精英運動員訓練計劃；
l 在進行精英訓練計劃時，善用所有運動科學、醫療及其他為運動員而設的支援服務，以加強訓練成果；
l 積極地主動執行訓練計劃以達至預設的目標成效;
l 透過全面性、多方位和定期評估，以監察運動員的表現；
l 制定和執行運動員的個人發展策略及短期與長期精英訓練計劃;
l 提交適時及具分析性的進度報告予體院及中國香港空手道總會；
l 負責運動員於本地及海外訓練及比賽的行政工作；
l 督導助理教練及兼職教練的工作；
l 須準備不定時工作安排；
l 須協助中國香港空手道總會選拔及提昇人才; 及
l 協助體育學院及中國香港空手道總會的教練培訓工作。
職位要求
l 大學學位或同等學歷；
l 持有由相關管理機構頒發的教練証書資歷；
l 具備最少五年專業教練經驗，及曾帶領空手道運動員在國際級水平賽事中獲得優異成績；
l 曾於國際空手道個人型賽事中，獲得高水平的成績；
l 持有世界空手道聯盟/全日本空手道連盟認可高級段位證書；
l 能夠策劃、執行和評核精英訓練課堂；
l 對個人和隊制項目擁有良好的主要知識，包括技術、戰術、訓練趨勢和國際發展；
l 具備對科學訓練、實踐和合適地運用領先科技之前瞻性知識；
l 以成績為本，具有追求成功的熱情；
l 能於不固定和長時間的壓力環境下工作，並能往返海外其他地方和作長時間停留；
l 熟悉及理解現時世界空手道聯盟之比賽規則；
l 必須能夠個人示範及講解高級型技術技能；
l 具備良好溝通能力及人際關係；
l 熟悉電腦操作；及
l 認識香港保護兒童及平等機會政策為佳。
