1. Job Purpose
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated KS3 PSHE Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education to students in Years 7–9 (ages 11–14), fostering their personal development, resilience, and well-being in line with the British National Curriculum and our school’s values.

2. Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and age-appropriate PSHE lessons for KS3 students following the school’s PSHE curriculum framework.
• Cover core topics including mental health and well-being, relationships and sex education (RSE), online safety, physical health, financial literacy, careers education, and citizenship.
• Use a variety of teaching strategies (discussions, role-play, case studies, group work, assemblies) to promote active learning.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including EAL and SEN students.
• Integrate cross-curricular links with subjects such as Science (puberty, health), PE (well-being), and Humanities (citizenship, rights and responsibilities).
Assessment & Progress
• Assess student progress through formative methods (class discussions, self-reflections, exit tickets, project work) without formal written exams at KS3.
• Maintain accurate records of student engagement and participation.
• Provide constructive, timely feedback to students to support their personal growth.
• Write termly progress reports for parents/guardians as required.
Pastoral & Wellbeing
• Act as a role model for positive behaviour, respect, and empathy.
• Work closely with the Head of Year, School Counsellor, and Safeguarding Lead to identify and support students with pastoral needs.
• Contribute to the school’s safeguarding culture, following all child protection policies and reporting concerns appropriately.
• Lead or support PSHE-related assemblies, drop-down days, and wellbeing events.
Curriculum Development
• Contribute to the ongoing review and development of the KS3 PSHE curriculum, ensuring it remains relevant, inclusive, and responsive to student needs.
• Stay updated with current best practices, statutory guidance, and local regulations where applicable.
• Develop or adapt resources, including worksheets, presentations, and digital content.
Collaboration & Communication
• Liaise with form tutors, Heads of Year, and subject teachers to reinforce PSHE themes across the school.
• Communicate effectively with parents through parent-teacher conferences, emails, or newsletters regarding PSHE topics and student progress.
• Participate in departmental and staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
