Job Title: Chemistry Teacher
Location: K12 International School, Nanjing
Student Age Group: Grade 7–9 / KS3
Start Date: August 2026
Reporting Line: Head of Science / Head of Secondary
Role Overview
We are seeking a qualified and passionate Chemistry Teacher to join our secondary science department. The successful candidate will deliver engaging chemistry lessons to students in Grades 7–9. This role requires a strong commitment to the British international curriculum and a student-centred approach.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality chemistry lessons aligned with the IGCSE and A-Level / IAL curricula
Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students in Grades 7–9 (KS3), building foundational knowledge and practical skills
Assess, record, and report on student progress in line with school and examination board requirements
Prepare students for internal and external assessments, including practical exams
Develop and maintain a positive, safe, and inquiry-based learning environment
Collaborate with the science department to enhance curriculum delivery and resources
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress
Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events as required
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
Proven experience teaching Chemistry within a British school setting (UK or international)
Familiarity with UK National Curriculum for Key Stage 3 (Grades 7–9)& A-level
Desirable:
Experience in an international school environment
Ability to teach another science subject at KS3 level
Experience with Cambridge or Edexcel examination boards
