Kindergarten Homeroom Teacher (International Bilingual Kindergarten)

Job Description

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Kindergarten Homeroom Teacher to join a bilingual kindergarten. The successful candidate will deliver engaging early years education in an English-language environment, supporting young learners’ development in a nurturing and structured setting.

The teacher will work closely with Chinese co-teachers to provide a balanced bilingual programme that promotes language development, creativity, and social-emotional growth.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering age-appropriate lessons in line with the kindergarten’s curriculum.
• Creating a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment for young learners (ages 3–6).
• Supporting children’s development in language, early literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
• Working collaboratively with Chinese co-teachers and teaching assistants to deliver a bilingual programme.
• Managing classroom routines, behaviour, and transitions effectively.
• Observing and assessing student progress, maintaining records, and providing feedback.
• Communicating regularly with parents regarding student development and wellbeing.
• Participating in school events, activities, and parent meetings.
• Supporting students’ pastoral care and wellbeing.
• Contributing to curriculum development and continuous improvement of the early years programme.


Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (Education or Early Childhood Education preferred).
• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent preferred).
• Experience working with young children (ages 3–6).
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to create engaging, interactive, and child-centred lessons.
• Positive, patient, and caring attitude towards young learners.
• Willingness to work collaboratively in a bilingual teaching environment.

Desirable:

• Experience in a bilingual or international kindergarten.
• Knowledge of early years frameworks (EYFS, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, etc.).
• Experience working with English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners.
