Position Overview:
The Kindergarten Homeroom Teacher is a key member of our early childhood team, responsible for creating a vibrant, safe, and stimulating learning environment for children aged 3-6. As the lead educator, you will design and implement a comprehensive curriculum, guide children’s holistic development, and serve as the primary point of contact for parents. Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, deliver, and assess a developmentally appropriate, play-based, and inquiry-driven curriculum, ensuring alignment with the school’s overarching educational philosophy and preparing students for a smooth transition to primary education.
• Foster the social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and linguistic development of each child, emphasizing bilingual acquisition (English and Mandarin) in an immersive context.
• Create and maintain a well-organized, resource-rich, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages independence, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Conduct systematic observation and documentation of children’s progress, using formative and summative assessments to inform individualized instruction and support.
• Build and maintain strong, transparent, and collaborative partnerships with parents through regular communication (e.g., portfolios, parent-teacher conferences, newsletters, and digital platforms).
• Provide guidance and leadership to Assistant Teachers within the classroom team.
• Actively participate in school-wide professional development, K-12 divisional meetings, staff events, and contribute to the broader school community.
• Uphold the highest standards of child protection, health, and safety in accordance with school policies.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
• Education: A Master’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Pedagogy, or a closely related field is mandatory.
• Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of full-time lead teaching experience as a Homeroom Teacher in a kindergarten or early years setting. Experience within an international or bilingual school context is highly preferred.
• Certification: A valid teaching credential/license for early childhood education is required (e.g., state/provincial license, PGCE/PGCEi/QTS or equivalent).
