This position will manage general day-to-day legal support for Company's Korea business units and operations. The Director position will give the Law Department a local presence to support the Company's various business activities, strategies and opportunities in Korea.
Key Responsibilities
- Member of Country Executive Management Team, representing Law Department. Counseling of Country Manager and/or Executives
- Manage and provide day-to-day legal support for various sales, service and other commercial transactions. Draft, review and negotiate various commercial contracts and documents. Provide business and legal counseling to executives.
- Provide day-to-day legal support to operations of various functions, including draft, review and negotiate agreements in support of purchasing, real estate, environmental health and safety, logistics & quality functions
- Provide legal advice and prepare or review labor or HR function related agreements or documents
- Support compliance with corporate legal and contractual obligations with customers and business partners. Manage litigation, arbitration, or other disputes
- General support of intellectual property matters.
- Provide legal support for subsidiary governance, establishment and consolidations

Education and Experience
- Holds a Bachelor's/Masters degree in Law from a recognized university and Korean/US bar admission preferred
- Work experiences (8-10 years) in multinational law firms / Top Korean Law firms / in-house legal departments of multinational corporations in High Tech. industry
- Extensive knowledge of Korea legal legislation, framework and practice
- Application of Korea legal skills in a multinational, in-house environment
- General experience in commercial contracts, litigation/arbitration, IP issues and management of business risks
Travel: Occasional travel within Korea and to Company's California head office
