LATAM Care & Treats Industrial Engineer Manager
This position could be based across LATAM
Job Purpose / Overview
This role is accountable for developing Manufacturing Strategies and leading Operational Excellence (OPEX) to enable the GROWTH ambitions of LATAM in Care & Treats (C&T) technologies and will directly interact with the unit CFO’s, Marketing and R&D leads. The role, together with the other regional Industrial Engineers, will drive OPEX and will support the manufacturing DIB program through the plant managers and manufacturing directors delivering the DIB annual savings, estimated for $5,7M in 2021.

What would be your key responsibilities?
Provides Safe Products and a Safe Workplace
• Role model the use and application of the Mars Quality Principle and the Mars Global Quality Standards.
• Role model the application of Mars safety standards to safeguard our associates and the assets we use.
• Establish a business risk identification process for evaluating strategies and capital projects and assure its’ application in all activities.
Efficiently Converts Raw Materials into Finished Goods
• Responsible to complete the submissions of all C&T Technology large minor and major capital projects liaising with key cross functional stakeholders to gain alignment on the proposal.
• Along with the Regional Chief Engineers and Site Technical Managers co-create the design of all large minor and major projects across regional C&T sites. Review and approve proposed equipment layouts, operational designs and material flows, which impact direct cost elements, with a vision toward achieving plant long-term objectives.
• Lead a review process for all regional C&T major and large minor capital projects focused on the delivery of the identified business goals. Complete post completion reports sharing learnings globally.
• Support the Regional Chief Engineers by completing any analysis to substantiate where it is appropriate to customize/adjust technology, innovation and standards to meet local business requirements/compliance.
• Lead cross functional teams focused on improving our conversion processes to reduce our COGS or improve factory efficiency, working within the S&OP+ framework for decision making.
Optimizes the Supply Chain
• Compile inputs for sourcing decision making and make recommendations for the Role of each Site to enable site master planning to be completed.
• Aligned with Global Industrial Engineering, develop options and recommend a Regional Sourcing Strategy for the C&T Technology in LATAM to enable our regional growth, earnings and cash objectives.
• Lead or support activities prioritized by the regional TLT at the regional C&T sites to drive improvements in service levels, product design criteria and cost.
• Support marketing and R&D in new product introduction and innovation management with business analysis and co-ordination of supply input against agreed priorities at the regional Dry sites.
Analyses and improves Performance
• Maintain a financial shaping process to continually assess C&T technology KPIs, SIG, Q&FS, TRS, FATR and refine the capital investment strategy and direct business improvement priorities.
• Recommend and maintain a regional CAB for C&T technologies, refining it over a 3yr rolling timeframe to enable delivery of our regional business goals.
• Consolidates the regional CAB status from the sites, keeping communication with stake holders, to make sure we deliver the year plan
• Lead the regional C&T plants in review of global benchmarking data to improve performance. Engages with the Global C&T Community of Practice and shares global performance initiatives and information across the regional supply community.
• Facilitates sites’ regional performance reporting to make good use of information to impulse the continuous improvement culture and for the decision making
• Mentor the site IEs in the region, providing functional support and assisting them to understand the expectations of the role.
