LATAM Pet Nutrition Regional Industrial Engineering Director

• Right hand person/thinking partner to LATAM Regional Supply VP in terms of development of the Regional Supply Network Strategy and Capital Investment Strategy, including business trade-offs resolution where required.
• Own the Manufacturing OPEX program and key Supply initiatives within LATAM manufacturing network, stablishing optimized financial and performance shapes, developing long term OPEX roadmaps and driving continuous improvement.
• Focused on strategy development in partnership with Regional Supply Leadership Team (Manufacturing and Logistics), network optimization and cost leadership, driving effectiveness, efficiencies, and cost competitiveness in the Regional Supply network.
• Provide source of independent and objective analytical support to enable effective decision-making and strategy development within LATAM Supply. Act as challenger inside the Supply Division.

What are we looking for? 

• University Degree in Engineering
• Preferred Specialized education or MBA in Supply Chain
• Seven + years of business experience in supply chain management and/or Manufacturing. Proven track record in Supply, including time as Plant Manager
• Strong knowledge in Supply Chain, Manufacturing best practices, finance requirements, Logistics
• High interpersonal skills including the ability to successfully influence associates
• Good managerial, coaching, training and leadership skills. Influence without authority
• Good knowledge of business processes and systems
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including English. Portuguese and Spanish desirable.
• Strong technical skills with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
• Ability to summarize key data and deliver effective presentations both internally and externally.
• Strong organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal) required.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of Supply divisions, S&F, and other functions.
• Good knowledge of quality assurance principles and approaches.

What will be your key responsibilities? 

• Being the Regional expert on Manufacturing Excellence and Supply Strategy Development.
• Maintaining a detailed understanding of the Regional supply network.
• Partnering with Manufacturing Directors, Plant Managers and Logistics Directors to support delivery of strategic plans
• In partnership with Regional Engineering Director lead the Regional Capital Investment Strategy, ensuring alignment with Regional and Global Petcare strategic priorities
• Manage the Annual CAB and lead the process for cross unit prioritization of the >$100m budget foreseen for the coming years.  
• Lead a team of 3 direct report regional IE’s, and functionally mentor Site IEs and technicians across the region.
• Development of opportunities for Footprint changes (Capital investment) in support of the Regional supply network.  This includes leading specific regional and trans-regional projects for plant rationalization with appropriate recommendations for plant improvements.
• On behalf of the LAPLT, leading the Regional approval and governance process for all decisions required for segment approval of Capital investments and other supply decisions (e.g. warehouses and Co-manufacturing requests). Making recommendations to the Regional Leadership team for approval or otherwise where appropriate.
• Development and leadership of Regional and Inter-Regional Supply strategies to optimize capital investment in support of Serve More Pets.
• Ownership of the Regional Do It Best Operational Excellence on COGS programmes (savings initiatives).
• Lead the best practice sharing within the Regional Supply network and to support plants improve efficiency and engagement.
