Job Description

The Senior Manager will be accountable for revenue generation in the SEA and Taiwan territory by overseeing and working with our channel partners, independent distributors and key accounts throughout all aspects of the sales process. In addition to ownership of the sales targets, he/she will be responsible for new product and ongoing training of the team and partners, sales forecasting and ongoing evaluation of the sales team and also our sales channel efficiency. The Senior Manager will work very closely with the broader functional teams, as well as Management, to leverage and develop key partners and customer relationships. Must have an ability and willingness to travel throughout the region.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee sales team performance and partner relationships within the countries and related markets.
  • Work with our partners where necessary to develop cohesive tactical and strategic sales plans in order to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Work with Senior Management to evaluate direct or sales channel efficiency throughout the territory on an ongoing basis and make changes where appropriate.
  • Responsible for New Business Development via prospecting, qualifying, selling and closing.
  • Accurately forecast sales opportunities to management team.
  • Conduct sales calls and presentations for current and potential customers, and where necessary in partnership with our partners.
  • Organize industry and country specific workshops and seminars to launch new products, enhance market awareness and branding.
  • Work actively with Marketing, Technical Support and Commercial Operations to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Develops and implements strategic and operational sales plans for the territory.
  • Manage, motivate and develop a team of sales professionals into high performing Sales leaders.
  • Analyses the sales activities, sales projects and key performance indicators of the territory and takes appropriate actions to steer the business to plan and beyond.
  • Recommends and implements tactical plans and programs for the achievement of sales goals.
  • Develops and implements innovative distribution opportunities and improvements for the territory.
  • Liaises and coordinates with business development and marketing staff to ensure maximum market segment penetration within the local region, and some related markets outside Singapore.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related science preferably Chemistry and may have an advanced degree, certification or additional professional training.
  • Typically requires 10 to 12 years of relevant experience (including 5+ years in chemistry or life science sales, distribution partnership management, or other customer facing commercial roles).
  • Channel management experience advantageous to know how to work with them.
  • Experienced in managing the sales budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Strong working knowledge of the sales process (lead generation, quoting, purchasing, revenue recognition) as well as highly competent in forecast management.
  • Ideally possesses a working knowledge of the SEA and Taiwan market.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Requires excellent communication skills, verbal, and written.
