As a member of the Logic Technology Development (LTD) Litho Frame Build Automation Team (FBAT) team, you will help Intel realize its vision by building Electronic Design automation (EDA) software solutions enabling efficient, high-quality, and on-time delivery of all Intel's Frames for both production and development. The Frame is a critical component of every wafer that is manufactured by Intel and contains silicon structures that are needed by various semiconductor fabrication tools. You will be stepping into a fast-moving, exciting environment with team members that are open to change, interested in learning, and anxious to help improve the lives of the engineering community at Intel. We are looking for someone that is a self-starter with a drive for continued growth, learning new software languages, technologies, methodologies, and enjoys working with a diverse set of people.

Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Developing Computer Aided Design (CAD) software engineering methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of various technical problems.

  • Research, design, develop and test scalable software solutions that aid various automation and data management problems related to Frame design while satisfying complex semiconductor process constraints.

  • Support existing software tools and continually strive to advance the state-of-the-art, improve the quality and maintainability of software.

  • Interacting with multiple internal groups to develop detailed functional specifications for new feature development and enhancements.

  • Implementing methodologies and flows around industry standard and custom EDA tools.

This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.


Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • You should hold a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or other relevant related degrees with a software or scientific computing focus. Must have the required degree or expect the required degree by December 2022.

  • 6+ months of experience with Python and/or C/C++

  • 6+ months of development experience in a Linux environment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in algorithms for EDA including but not limited to: Computational geometry algorithms for CAD, Floor planning and Placement algorithms, and Graph algorithms

  • Experience in solving optimization problems such as Bin packing, Combinatorial optimization problems and Mathematical optimization techniques such as Linear and mixed-integer programming

  • Familiarity with VLSI Physical design and CAD tools that handle VLSI design data (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso, Magic VLSI)

  • Familiarity with Software engineering practices, debugging tools, and Source control management tools such as Git

  • Familiarity with REST API design and back-end software development

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
