Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Lab Technician / Chemist to join our team. This position is based at our Euclid, OH facility. Position Overview: The Lab Technician/Chemist is responsible for conducting chemistry testing in support of Eaton-Euclid manufacturing and Eaton Aerospace labs outside business. This role will prepare, analyze, and document chemistry tests. This position will also be responsible for maintaining test equipment and test supplies, modifying, or creating test procedures, and maintaining NADCAP compliance to existing chemistry test codes. In this role, you will: Complete chemistry testing with methods such as Spark OES, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, Combustion (C, O, S, H, N), XRF, FTIR, wet chemistry, Atomic Absorption, etc. Perform and enter plant’s tank bath test results into software and help document formula’s and make up. Assist with chemistry lab upkeep. Participate as needed in chemistry audits Review chemistry test results from outside laboratories. Maintain current, precise, and systematic records for the quality system. Prepare chemistry labels as required for both the lab and manufacturing. Schedule and conduct equipment calibrations as required. Assist entering and maintaining information within the Eaton SDS database Assist with inspecting plant flammable/chemical storage cabinets for properly labeled and stored material Communicate (both orally and written) with supervision and Sales in a precise, logical, informative, and tactful manner. Manage and control chemistry test documents and storage. Perform other lab work and chemical testing/handling as needed. Perform such other duties which may be assigned as necessary. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a lab environment or materials testing. Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Euclid, OH facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution. Five (5) years’ experience in a lab environment doing wet chemistry or analytical chemistry NADCAP compliance experience.
