Job Title: Lab Tech II

What will you do?
The Lab Technician II performs sample handling, receipt, storage, and shipment for a biorepository as well as entering inventory information into a laboratory information management system. Additionally, he/she performs specialized services including sample manipulation, aliquoting, and other sample handling functions that may require aseptic technique.
- Follows procedures for sample handling and entering sample information.
- Performs QC/QA to ensure manifests and sample locations are accurate.
- Prints and affixes labels to vials/containers.
- Maintains accurate laboratory records using Good Documentation Practices.
- Packs and ships samples following regulatory requirements, with appropriate packaging to maintain required thermal conditions.
- Responds to unit alarms and transfers samples as needed.
- Provides support services, including supply monitoring and ordering to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Assists Contract Operations Manager and Contract Program Manager with administrative tasks such as compiling reports and updating procedures.
- Performs specialized services requiring sample handling under aseptic conditions.
- Transfers and/or aliquots samples using universal precautions and following biosafety rules.
How will you get here?
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- BS/BA Degree preferred and 1-3 years relevant work experience.
- Must be able to consistently lift 50 pounds.
