Lab Technologist

This position is able to evaluate functional, metrological, metallurgical, mechanical or chemical aspects of current and future products and materials, and also supports root cause analysis for problem solving efforts, setting up, executing tests, performing and presenting data reports for internal or external Customer needs (prototype production, supplies of materials or components, performance analysis after test or failure analysis evaluation).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform some of the laboratory activities such as metrological, functional, metallurgical, chemical and material evaluation checks in line with the assigned priorities.
- Evaluates existing products and new or improved products following internal and Customer technical specifications.
- Select test methods and use of standard equipment as required by working closely to engineering, design and manufacturing functions.
- Define, set-up and use measuring systems for product conformity, performance testing or root cause analysis.
- Performs set up of standard tests.
- Gather data through use of lab equipment and organize into a database or other usable format.
- Document results of testing or problem solving efforts in a clear and concise technical report.
- Participates in team problem solving.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Mechanical or Material Science or Master Degree in Engineering.
- Mechanical, metrology or metallurgical background and Failure Analysis
- knowledge of production processes (Valves & VA)
- Mechanical Component Design and Analysis
- Good teamwork
- Problem solving and analytical skills, results oriented
- Ability to function autonomously
