Manufacturing/Operations Assistant 3

Job Overview
Supports production, business, and other processes in a team-based manufacturing environment. Performs support activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including validation, production planning, total quality management systems, material management, and manufacturing. Interacts with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement. May facilitate self-directed work teams, provide training in "core skill" areas to teams and peers, and interact with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement. Provides administrative and clerical support to relieve staff of administrative details. Researches, compiles and proofs word processing assignments. Operates automated office equipment. Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves complex issues associated with manufacturing operations.

Job Description

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Performs support activities in a variety of production, business, and other processes in a team-based manufacturing environment
  • Performs basic support activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including validation, production planning, total quality management systems, material management, and manufacturing
  • Monitors inventory of raw materials to ensure timely production
  • Responsible for creating requisitions for ordering supplies to ensure appropriate inventory
  • Must be able to maintain and review neat, accurate and complete records and logs
  • Initiates document revisions when necessary
  • Responsible for following departmental established procedures
  • Works with and coordinates with other shifts to maintain sufficient and correct amount of sterilized equipment and proper condition of work area
  • May work with supervision, engineering and/or maintenance personnel to develop process improvements and equipment improvements
  • Provides support to the supervisor when necessary
  • Provides training support for on-boarding and/or new procedures
  • Provides coaching to associates on day-to-day activities and performance
  • Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Must follow all BD housekeeping policies and procedures
  • Must follow all BD safety policies and procedures
  • Must be able to work overtime as required to meet BD business requirements

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • High school degree with 3 years’ experience

Basic Skills:

  • Time management skills required to ensure all tasks are completed without delay
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to work with various teams
  • Strong prioritization skills required
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must be detailed-oriented
  • Must have organizational skills

Proficient/Working Skills:

  • Must be proficient in English with the ability to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmetic
  • Must be proficient in SAP system
