Job Description

We are looking for a Laboratory Process Engineer to join our site in Malvern.
Working as a key member of the laboratory team and in conjunction with the Laboratory Quality Team to ensure quality standards are maintained and that key performance trends are used to identify opportunities to refine and improve current operating procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in conjunction with technical SMEs to troubleshoot and solve technical problems, ensuring investigation and outcome are appropriately documented
- Hold regular meetings with key laboratory stakeholders to ensure QI and CAPA investigations are progressed and completed on time, participating in investigations where required
- Ensure QI and CAPA records are appropriately detailed and documented
- Undertake regular reviews of QA/QC, IPT/EQA data in conjunction with the laboratory team, preparing the outcome of review for technical sign off
- Facilitate and participate in the development and review of standard operating procedures, ensuring that periodic reviews and document training records are completed on time
- Implement a systematic approach to review QI and CAPA trends, analysing root cause classification to identify opportunities for process improvement
- Participate in the review of laboratory complaint data to identify opportunities for process improvement
- Facilitate and support laboratory process improvement initiatives
- Support the preparation of scientific validity documents to support current and new laboratory methods
- Working in conjunction with the Laboratory Quality Manager, refine and produce the monthly laboratory quality KPIs, investigating trends and identifying opportunities for improvement when performance falls below target
- Working with the QA team to facilitate alignment with Abbott policies and procedures
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION:
- BSc in science or a related field
- At least 3 years’ experience working in an ISO17025 laboratory environment
- Knowledge of continuous improvement approaches e.g. six sigma and root cause analysis techniques
- Ability to travel between sites
COMPETENCIES:
Ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team
Demonstrate logical thinking and an ability to manage multiple activities / priorities
Demonstrate knowledge of continuous improvement approaches e.g. six sigma and root cause analysis techniques
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence others
Fluent in Microsoft office
