Job Description
A Laboratory Research Technician performs laboratory research in the field of prostate cancer. This person will assist in day-to-day lab operations mainly in animal work. He/she will coordinate and conduct experiments and carry out research projects in varied areas of mouse models, biochemistry, molecular biology, and cancer biology.


 


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY:




  • Ability to work with mice on a daily basis such as animal husbandry, crossbreeding, and genotyping



  • Ability to learn and perform tissue fixation, paraffin-embedding, sectioning, H&E staining, and immunohistochemical staining



  • Ability to learn and perform basic tissue culture techniques



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills



  • Excellent organizational skills



  • Ability to multi-task, and prioritize work assignments



  • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and maintain good working relationships
