Job Title: Lab Technician

Report to: Lab head, scientists and marketing colleagues

Department: China Animal Nutrition Center

Location：Bazhou, Hebei

The Position

• Establish and optimize the molecular biological/microbiological/ analytic procedures required for animal trials of CAN and, when necessary, for samples from external customer.
• Perform sample analyses and documentation of analytic results with high quality and high performance.
• Participate in collection and preparation of biological samples (feces, intestinal content, tissues and blood samples etc.)
• Perform work according to the relevant DSM SHE & Security and other legal standards (biosecurity rules, JSA, SOPs etc.) to ensure that no recordable SHE incidents are found in lab.
• Responsible for the equipment maintenance and the well-functioning of the labs.
• Participate in common tasks for the lab and CAN
• Prepare, edit and implement SOPs / JSA etc.
  

The Ideal

• Perform analyses requested by internal or external customers.
• Learn and developed the analytic procedure of animal nutrition relevant parameters and perform analytics independently.
• Responsible for the routine maintenance for some lab equipment: Microplate reader, multi-position magnetic stir, centrifuge, electric pipettes, protein analyzer, NIR, etc.
• Actively participate in the running of the microbiology lab. Take a role in the microbial analysis of intestine samples.
• Perform work according to the relevant DSM SHE & Security and other legal standards (biosecurity rules, JSA, SOPs etc.) to ensure that no recordable SHE incidents are found in lab;
• Actively participate and implement SHE & Security improvement actions.
• Continuously optimize the workflow so that all analysis work can be done in an efficient way.
