*Wasatch Academy Dual-Diploma Program*
Wasatch Academy offers an academic program where students who are enrolled in a Wasatch Academy Diploma Program at partner high schools in the People’s Republic of China are eligible to receive credits for specified academic courses taught by Wasatch Academy teachers. Students are required to complete US credits in Language Arts, Mathematics, Physical Sciences and Social Sciences to fulfill diploma requirements. After successful completion of the set credit requirements, students enrolled in the Dual Diploma Program will obtain an American high school graduation diploma from Wasatch Academy and as well as a Chinese graduation diploma from their home campus.

Students are selected and enrolled in the program based on prior academic achievement, official high school entrance exams (中考), partner school entry exams, and personal interviews. Partner schools are all nationally ranked key public high schools. Wasatch Academy partners with the AHEAD Education Group to manage program administration, logistics, and HR.

*English Language Arts Program*
English Language Arts is a comprehensive study, combining the five skills of language arts in
order to understand literature and its value where students are expected to develop analytical
skills and grow in their self-expression. Classes generally revolve around reading novels, essays and other forms of literature, and require students to analyze, interpret and dissect written material in order to compare, contrast and discuss elements, like theme, characters and plot. Proficient writing skills are necessary at this point as these discussions typically manifest in the form of an essay or research paper. Other mediums including drama, creative writing, poetry, etc., may also be utilized in achieving learning objectives.

*Job Description"
Teachers are primarily responsible for lesson planning, teaching, and conducting assessments (formative/summative) for their assigned classes. Faculty also participate in departmental activities and school community events as needed. Please see below for specific details on teaching-related duties.

Responsibilities
•Teach with a focus on student-directed, project-based learning.
•Communicate and co-ordinate with US campus to organize and run class according to Wasatch Academy's academic guidelines and standards.
•Co-ordinate and co-operate with Chinese partner admin and faculty for program administration, development, and class organization.
•Assess and report on students’ progress and grades in a timely and organized manner to the home campus and China-based admin.
•Communicate with parents effectively and frequently through regularly scheduled progress reports and at other times as necessary, most particularly when students require enrichment or remediation.
•Coordinating and communicating with local school and partner staff regarding program day to day operations
•Provide individual or small-group academic help to students.
•Co-ordinate an extra-curricular activity
•Perform other duties as necessary or as assigned.

Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in teaching field preferred, Master’s degree desirable.
•Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in teaching subject or related field (visa requirement).
•Background/experience in Western school system strongly preferred
•Legally able to work under the labor laws of the People’s Republic of China (degree authentication, background check, visa category etc)
•Demonstrated interest in the G9-12 education of students.
•Fluency with computer technology.
•Ability to work cooperatively and diplomatically with students, parents, faculty, staff, and administration in a foreign cultural environment.
•Ability and motivation to work cross-culturally.
•Commitment to student learning and to continued professional development.
•Ability to engage in student-centered and project based learning.
