Eaton’s Corporate Sector is seeking a Lead Analyst - Acquisition and Divestiture Accounting. This position is based at our Beachwood, OH location. Position Overview: Eaton’s Lead Analyst performs professional accounting work supporting both actual and potential acquisitions and divestitures. This position partners with business finance and integration teams, corporate development, and other corporate functions to provide accounting support and financial reporting and analysis. In this function you will: Assist with acquisition accounting and the determination of purchase price accounting adjustments Reconcile goodwill, intangibles and other accounts of acquired businesses and prepare management reporting Assist with annual and interim goodwill and intangible asset impairment analyses Manage and track corporate expense for acquisition and divestiture activity Coordination assistance with third party valuation firms and the acquired operations to support the fixed asset and intangible valuation process for acquired businesses Coordinate monthly meetings to discuss purchase accounting and other finance related integration activities Collect, analyze and organize documentation required to support purchase accounting adjustments and work with the acquired operations to record them Perform corporate ledger accounting and prepare journal entries and purchase accounting adjustment summaries Provide accounting support to divested businesses and assist in the preparation and recording of entries required to recognize the proper gain/loss on sale Develop and maintain relationships with various corporate functions to provide accounting support and financial analysis Interpret U.S. GAAP and Eaton financial policies on accounting matters and provide clear and concise guidance on application and account usage to acquired operations Liaison with external and internal auditors to explain acquisition accounting and provide detailed supporting documentation Participate in or lead special projects/process improvements to help drive efficiencies in the finance organization Why work at Eaton? Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance from an accredited institution Minimum of 3 years’ of progressive accounting or finance experience No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Beachwood, OH will be considered.
