Job Description: Reviews Know Your Customer (KYC) documentation for new customer accounts, evaluates high-risk accounts and analyzes new customer processes and policies. Conducts reviews of client account activity, and client profile information. Conducts background checks, customer research, and transactional analysis. Conduct regulatory and sanction screenings and support periodic review processes. Escalate unusual activity and assist with escalating potential risks. Present summarized findings to peers and management. Conducts reviews of client account activity, and client profile information. Conducts background checks, customer research, and transactional analysis. Conduct regulatory and sanction screenings and support periodic review processes. Escalate unusual activity and assist with escalating potential risks. Responsible for the preparation and coordination of high risk memo presentations. Present summarized findings to peers and management. Communicates with internal and external parties as needed and makes recommendations on necessary procedural/control changes on KYC matters. Assist with the maintaining of policies and procedures in accordance with corporate and regulatory requirements. Compile and analyze large data sets to assist with the preparation of reports to management and the completion of risk assessments. Interface with all stakeholders including Business Heads, Sales, Legal, Audit, Risk & Control, and Information Technology, to develop and drive strategic initiatives aimed at mitigating Anti Money Laundering (AML) risk, improving processes, data quality, and internal controls; as well as promoting a collaborative working environment This position requires knowledge of Anti- Money Laundering (AML) and KYC, the Financial Services Industry regulations, compliance, operations or auditing. Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to implement AML/KYC policies and procedures. Resides in the business and supports management in the day-to-day efforts related to first line of defense regulatory oversight management with laws, rules, regulations and related policies. Performs research and analyses relevant information and transactions that warrant further investigation. Additional Responsibilities Include: Verify practices against straightforward policies, with moderate supervision. Document findings for management reports. Gathers data and prepares materials for more senior team members to counsel business personnel on first line of defense compliance with policies. No direct reports. Contributes to the achievement of team objectives. Works on projects of limited size and levels of complexity. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred. 1-3 years experience or knowledge in AML/KYC 1-3 years of total work experience preferred.
