Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Service & Systems Division is currently seeking a Lead / Breaker Technician to join our team. This position is based in our San Diego, CA facility. Why work at Eaton? Eaton has the largest and most experienced team of field services technicians and engineers in the industry. Active participation in recognized technical societies such as NFPA and IEEE ensures that our technicians are knowledgeable aboutcutting-edge technology and engineering techniques. In this function you will: Assemble electrical products including motor controls and circuit breakers, etc. Support aftermarket products and time entry transactions Visually check components and assemblies for electrical and mechanical defects Read and understand blueprint and schematics for assembly and troubleshooting Complete sub-assembly and wiring of any product as assigned Maintain quality records, calibration records, charts, and area performance to forecast as directed Develop vendor relationships to assist with material specifications, quality control, purchasing, and delivery Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: High school diploma from an accredited institution. Minimum of one (1) year of electrical testing or mechanical or instrumentation technology experience Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius from the listed location will be considered. Active Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred qualifications: Associate degree from an accredited institution OR equivalent military experience. Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in mechanical, electrical, OR instrumentation technology. Position Criteria: Proficient with all applicable test equipment - can work on orders with minimal supervision/feedback Ability to train junior technicians on a wide array of various manufacturers’ electrical equipment as well as applicable test equipment for use and purpose. Assist Lead Technician in Quality Inspection of finished product and completion of First Time Yield forms Demonstrate strong mechanical ability, good organizational skills, and good work habits with a proactive work ethic in a team environment. Familiarity with control circuitry. Familiar with process and procedures of Statistical Quality Control Methods. Able to read and understand complex blueprints, schematics, parts lists, and additional technical materials. Hand tool experience.
