Job Description
Role Summary: For the assigned opportunities, owns the entire ITO Process (Inquiry to Order) from early phase before receipt of the Invitation to Tender (ITT), to the proposal development/approval and finally the deal negotiation and closing and hand-over to OTR.
Essential Responsibilities: As a charismatic Leader and strong negotiator, you’ll inspire, motivate, lead by example the tendering team (including chasing and influencing for any required additional supports) and drive rigor and passion.
Challenge sales and in-country personnel to gain customer, competition and market intelligence; gain a full understanding prior to the ITT and if possibly, work to shape the ITT to align with GE Products and Services.
Participate in building and enhancing favorable customer relationships. Map key decision makers / influencer, develop a trusty relationship and gain the right level of confidence with identified key stakeholders.
Perform the initial review of the ITT documents to establish the scope of work, the Tender schedule and the composition of the Tender team and understand customer drivers and ITT requirements to translate these into actionable and winning opportunity strategies.
Ensure the compliant, accurate, timely and effective tendering process.
Manage the tendering process and coordinate the collection and integration from all other teams (engineering, planning, sourcing to manufacturing, project management, and others).
Ultimately responsible for the tender quality, integrity, and the full contract redlining, securing and documenting all required sign-offs (from, but not limited to technical, schedule, finance, taxes, commercial, legal, to execution / project management functions)
Contribute towards the written proposal (Commercial and Technical) – both in terms of content and presentation in a timely manner.
Lead (in conjunction with the Technical Lead) the customer clarification / negotiation process and the internal review process (with a special emphasis on GE T&Cs compliance and on risk identification/ mitigation)
Firmly follow the ITO Process, preparation of necessary approvals and use the tools and templates made available to the commercial team.
Participate, engage and lead in global initiatives for ITO improvements.
Accountable for orders and margin for the opportunities allocated to him and with full compliance with the Delegation of Authority.
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or in a related Engineering discipline
Minimum of 10 years of experience in power or wind projects (tender preparation / contract negotiation / project implementation)
Good command of Wind Turbine (or similar Power Generation asset) main contributions to customer business case (Revenues, CAPEX/OPEX) in a project finance environment and able to explain and defend them during the offer preparation, clarification and negotiation.
Fluent in the English language,
Ability and willingness to travel as required,
Strong contractual understanding and negotiation skills with proven track record,
Desired Characteristics: Successful working with customers, Sales and internal project teams,
Cross-functional team leadership experience,
Demonstrated sensitivity to Customer needs and awareness of market conditions,
Demonstrated clear thinking with effective communication at all levels,
Additional language skills (e.g. Spanish, French or German),
Good command of GE ITO process (Inquiry to Order) and associated sub-process, or gates such as Risk Reviews and approval process,
Good command of tools such as SalesForce.com and office pack (e.g. costing tools).
