The Lead Construction Manager role includes supervision of construction subcontractors, field installation superintendents, field engineering, contract administration, cost and schedule (Project Controls), field procurement, finance and accounting services, and testing and commissioning. Responsible for ensuring development and execution of project plans including: construction execution plan, subcontracting plan, EHS plan, automation plan, and FWF staffing plan.

Responsible for ensuring development and execution of project plans including: construction execution plan, subcontracting plan, EHS plan, automation plan, and FWF staffing plan.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all project activities including actions of GE, subcontractors, suppliers, clients and their representatives.
- Implement GE’s EHS policies, security, housekeeping, and fire protection on the construction site.
- Develop the project organization. Ensure the organization is composed of qualified and knowledgeable personnel, and ensures effective personnel utilization. Ensure the performance reviews are conducted on field staff in accordance with established schedule.
- Establish and implement construction schedules, methods, staffing charts, and material and equipment requirements.
- Review project cost and schedule performance through analysis of project reports and data. Coordinate with the Project Controls Manager (PCM)
- Monitor and analyze project safety, cost, schedule, and quality performance and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
- Control project expenditures for labor, equipment, material and services and ensure field operations are within budget.
- Maintain client relationship. The SM is the primary point of contact for client communications to the field.
- Maintain an effective relationship with other functional departments.
- Develop, implement and administer a project security plan and coordinate the activities with the corporate security department.
- Coordinate all project contractual activities. Participate in contracts and subcontracts negotiations.
- Ensure RFEs and RFSs are properly trained.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- University degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
- 5 years minimum relevant experience in construction/site management activities for multi-disciplinary projects with good knowledge of technical and contractual requirements of large construction Projects.
- Knowledge of Electrical networks and technology used in related power Transmission & Distribution (T&D) projects involving AIS or GIS switchgear, transformers, related cable works etc.
- Ability to lead, manage and organize multiple teams and activities, necessary staffing, development and training plan for the different teams.
- Skills in planning, resource management, financial and legal/contractual aspects of project management.
- Knowledge of project management tools, software and methodologies such as MS Project, Primavera etc.
- An understanding and appreciation of International Standards (e.g. IEC).
- Good oral / written communication skills in English would be added advantage.
- Operating rigor in large multinational organization with regional, satellite teams and functional organization set ups.
Following skillsets are desirable:
- Site Management in a multidisciplinary construction environment, preferably of projects within a consortium or partnership setup
- Experience of managing multiple subcontractors simultaneously with strong focus on EHS
- Demonstrable zero tolerance towards safety violations in large construction activities
- Willingness to work in different locations for short or medium periods and to travel world-wide
