Airbnb is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our team! This person will play a critical role within our Ethics & Compliance legal team, and work across multiple global teams and regions providing support and advice to Airbnb’s business on critical issues.  This person must have excellent judgment, deep integrity, and exceptional experience in managing and conducting high-stakes internal investigations. 

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage the portfolio of Ethics & Compliance investigations, including providing legal advice to internal investigations teams, directly conducting high stakes investigations, and managing outside counsel on externally-led investigations
• Take a leadership role in building and developing a world-class Ethics & Compliance program
• Be an excellent teammate within the Global Legal Department
• Build strong partnerships across the business and our Ethics & Compliance partner teams  
• Skillfully manage our investigating resources and annual planning process 
• Drive improvements to our policies, training, and misconduct prevention efforts 

Experience/Qualifications:

• 12+ years of practicing legal experience
• 5+ years of dedicated investigation experience, including leading in-house investigations  
• Leads with empathy and humility 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior stakeholders 
• Ideal experience includes compliance, anti-bribery, campaign finance, and a wide range of employee relations issues.  
• Experience leading cross-functional teams on high stakes project
• General experience with working in an international and multicultural working environment with geographically dispersed team members.
