Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services and Systems division is currently seeking a Lead Project Engineer to join our team. This position will be based out of any of the locations above or from a remote home office. Position Overview: Eaton's Electrical Services & Systems team offers a comprehensive portfolio of services tailored for every stage of a power system’s life cycle—whether it’s design, build, or support. The primary purpose of this position is to provide applied technical and commercial consultation for EESS’s Project Engineering team to support operational and growth objectives. The engineer will work within a multi-disciplined team serving in an advisory role supporting the business development and execution of turnkey projects ranging from LV to 345kV utility grade substation. The position will be active in providing both technical and project management support on projects starting at the conceptual stage and continuing, through design, and into project execution. The engineer will also assist the project estimating group in preparing estimates, schedules, and proposals. Making what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world. In this role you will: Developing design estimates at the proposal stage Create project specifications Oversee development of electrical drawing packages including physical layouts, ground grid design, protection and control, and wiring. Develop testing/commissioning plans for projects and be technical resource during testing/commissioning phase. Lead engineering effort on large turnkey projects with multiple engineering groups to ensure high quality and on schedule deliverables Provide technical oversight of civil engineering designs Provide QA/QC review of internal and external designs for code compliance, accuracy, and constructability Manage design deliverables to maintain project schedule, design budget, and accuracy Assist in development and enforcement of design and process standards. Provide technical guidance, value added engineering and constructability guidance during both the design and implementation phases Act as a single point of contact to project managers during execution phases Mentor and/or lead other engineers Be responsible for maintaining engineering budget and financial report-out on projects including support for Project Control Engineers in project forecasting. Support Project Engineering Team Leaders with operational support including project financial updates and risk reviews. Preferred qualifications: Professional Engineer qualification Protection and controls experience Working knowledge of NERC/FERC, NESC, NEC, ANSI, NETA Bachelor’s Degree in ELectrical Engineering from an accredited institution Position Success Criteria: Familiarity with power system engineering calculations Knowledge of codes and standards such as NEC, NESC, ANSI Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation Proficiency with MS Office applications Project management experience Diverse application experience with power distribution projects.
